In the Land of Babel

Owen is well on his way to talking. Though he has been a fairly vocal baby for some time, he only recently started using sounds that can easily be spelled. He'll have periods of the day now when he will just babble, and he really seems to get a kick out of it. He has said his first word now, and he also is able to name a few other of his favorite things around the house. Here are some pictures of a few of the things he can say...

Ok, so maybe first word is a little ambitious, but it is fun to hear him babbling. He'll occasionally throw in an "a-da" or a "ba-ba", but "da-da" is so far his favorite.

A Visit to Auntie and UB

Things have been pretty hectic the last couple of weeks, but they're slowing down now that we've returned from a trip to TX. Owen got to spend some quality time with his Auntie and UB, and he really loved it. He did such a great job on this trip. He did well on the plane, and he was in a wonderful mood for most of the time. Despite getting a little sick, he still was mostly smiles and giggles. He explored quite a bit of Auntie and UB's home, and he even had an encounter or two with Sam, the family dog. But, among these things, we and Owen had a really big first; we went to our friends' wedding in Oklahoma and stayed overnight, while Owen stayed in TX with Auntie and UB...the first night we've been apart. Everyone did well, and I think Owen really had some fun. Here are some pictures of Owen that his Auntie took.

More Crawling

Here are a couple more pictures from tonight before bedtime. We got on the floor with Owen, and he just really went to town with the crawling. He's doing better, though still can only do a little bit at a time before collapsing or laying down. He seemed to have a lot of fun. He's really interested in electronics, and he kept going for the Playstation and receiver.
