And the Walkin' Man Walks

Well, getting closer anyway. Owen has been cruising along furniture for a while, but he hadn't been showing any interest in the push toys that we got for him. A couple of weekends ago he started pushing his Radio Flyer rocket for a few steps, so we've been trying to practice more and more. Yesterday, he finally decided he was really interested, and he took off with his alligator cart. Unfortunately, we've run out of tapes for the camcorder, but we were able to capture a little bit of it on the webcam. The quality leaves a lot to be desired, but you'll get the idea.

All Done

Things are busy as usual here. Owen has been doing really well. He's got a few new tricks since the last time I posted. Namely, he has begun saying a couple of words. For a couple of weeks now he's been saying "dog" (pronounced by Owen as "daw"), but he was only saying it when we would point to one of the dogs and say "dog". However, about a week or so ago, he was looking out the window at Bella and said "daw" without being prompted by us at all. Yesterday, he said another new thing. When Cara or I feed Owen, whenever he either finishes his food or he's decided he's had enough, we'll say "all done?" and then do the sign languange sign for it. Typically, his response has been to smile really big and clap when we ask this. Yesterday, though, he said "ah duh" after Cara asked him. Again tonight he repeated this when Cara asked him if he was "all done?" I'm not sure yet if knows exactly what it means. Well, he either doesn't know what it means, or he knows exactly what it means, because as I was getting him into the bathtub (bath time is always right after dinner), he said "ah duh", "ah duh", as he tried to climb out. Well, I don't have any clips of him saying his new words, but here are a few pictures from the past week.

Owen has helped us to realize that we should probably give these books to Goodwill.

Caught in the act.

Owen with his plastic coin.

He decides he wants to hand it to me from underneath his bouncing stander thing.

When I didn't take it from him, he decided to crawl underneath the bouncing stander thing to give it to me.

Tough Guy

Another weekend, another fever. It seems like that's how it's been lately. Owen takes it in stride, though. He was sick for this weekend but you would never know it from looking at these pictures. Luckily, since it was a 3 day weekend, it meant an extra day out of daycare and more recovery time.

It's hard to say no to this face.

Doesn't look like a febrile child.

He's discovered his interest in books...to throw them off the shelf.

Our attempt to cheaply and easily baby-proof the kitchen cabinets provides a game for Owen.

Dinner time with Mommy.

He didn't have much of an appetite.

He's decided he's had enough.

Trying out the new hat.
